{lang it}Nato a Bari il 26 giugno 1969, coniugato con due figli.
Nell'anno 1987 ha conseguito la Maturità Scientifica con voti 60/60;
Nell'Anno Accademico 1991-92 si è laureato in Ingegneria con voti 110/110 e lode;
Ha superato l'esame di abilitazione all'esercizio della professione di Ingegnere nella prima sessione dell'anno 1993 con voto complessivo di 160/160;
Nell'anno 1993 ha svolto l'esercizio di Ufficiale nel Genio Militare dell'Esercito con l'incarico di addetto alla sez. Studi e Coordinamento.
Nell'anno 1994 ha iniziato l'attività di ricerca presso l'Istituto di Macchine ed Energetica del Politecnico di Bari in qualità di dottorando, conseguendo il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in "Ingegneria delle Macchine" - gruppo ING-IND08 (ex I04B);
Dal 2.5.1996 è Ricercatore, confermato nel ruolo dal 2.5.1999;
Attualmente è Professore ordinario nel Politecnico di Bari, Delegato del Rettore alla comunicazione, all'immagine istituzionale del Politecnico di Bari ed all'ascolto delle parti interessate. E' consigliere nel Consiglio di Amministrazione del DARE Puglia, Vice Presidente Distretto Regionale Energie Rinnovabili, Direttore Bari Automotive Summer School. {/lang} {lang en}Prof. Riccardo Amirante, PhD, was born in Bari on June 26th, 1969. He received the first degree (5 years) with honors in Civil Engineering during Academic Years 1991/92 and the Ph.D. in Fluid Machinery Engineering in 1997, both from the Polytechnic of Bari. He has been tenured assistant professor at the Università del Molise since from 1996 to 2000. He is successfully assistant professor of " Fluid Machinery " (Internal Combustion Engines and Turbomachinery): at the Politecnico di Bari from 2000. He has been full professor from 2017. Since 2008, delegate of the Rector of the Polytechnic of Bari for the Wifi network of the University, and in 2013 to 2019, Riccardo Amirante is delegate of the Rector of the Polytechnic of Bari for the communications and institutional image of the university. He represents the Polytechnic of Bari in the Management Board of the Regional Food District of Puglia.
Reviewer for international journals such as Energy Conversion & Management, Automation in Construction, Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement and Control. He also is in the editorial board of Universal Journal of Engineering Science, an international peer-reviewed journal. Scientific responsible of prominent national research program named "Drive systems for hydraulic proportional valves", PRIN 2007, financed by Italian Minister of Research "MIUR". Scientific responsible of a test rig for Diesel engine with programmable ECU, of a test bench for Unijet and Multijet Diesel injection systems, Fluid Power laboratory, Hydraulic pumps and turbines laboratory, and of a test bench for air-cycle refrigeration and for measurements on fluid machinery.
He has published about 60 papers, mainly based on experimental and/or numerical approaches.
More than twenty papers have been published on international journals or books.
Proprietor of a Patent concerning "Optical system for thr measurement of the diplacement of a movable bodiy drowned in a fluid", numbered RM2012A000507.
The research activity is awarded by national and international associations.
Initially his research interests are in the field of fluid dynamic design problems applied to horizontal centrifugal separators and with their applications to industrial process. During this period he obtained the first national prize for the better scientific paper about olive oil industry. Successively his research interests are in the field of Hydraulic transmissions, and he is actually first manager of Hydraulic and pneumatic laboratory of Department. He strongly cooperated in many national research projects. During the last years he teaches many courses in University of Molise and Politecnico di Bari: Fluid Automation, Hydraulic transmissions, Agro alimentary machineries and plants, Mathematics, and so on.
